There are many places to eat in the area, and we are sure you will find your own favourites. Here are just a few of ours (Google will find them all):

Kilmarnock Arms Hotel – in Cruden Bay. We think this serves the best restaurant and bar meals in the region – probably best to book.

Cock and Bull – on the way to Aberdeen south of Newburgh – always had a good reputation for food – better book.

Newburgh Inn – basic pub grub.

The Trellis – a new coffee shop in the middle of Newburgh – lovely food.

The View – a public cafe within Newbugh golf club. Licensed. Meals as well as coffee or ice cream. Fantastic views.

Fish and Chips – good ones are Zanres or Jax in Ellon, or try the Boddam Fish and Chip shop and go down to the old harbour there to eat them.

Take Aways – Ellon has all the normal ones, three chineses, two indians, a kebab and pizza place. Many will deliver to Collieston – best to phone them. Google “Ellon take away” etc.

Ice Cream – And of course we must not forget our local ice cream hut, down by Collieston’s own beach. Its seasonal, but try to visit Smuggler’s Cone for an ice cream, a coffee or a bucket and spade. Owned and run by local people.
